Good morning! I have a drop-in visit for a senior dog today!

What is a drop-in visit? A drop-in visit is where I come over to your house while you're away and care for your pets for a duration of 30 minutes or 60 minutes, depending on how much needs to be done. The care usually consists of feeding, water changes, playtime, cuddles, and for dogs, a brief walk or outside bathroom time.

The dog I am caring for is Maxie, she is a 16 year old Cockapoo. Her owner requested me to come by her house in Leduc four times a day.

A typical routine for each dog usually vary, but it can be pretty similar for every dog! I, myself at Furvorite Pet Sitting, always follow your routine personally so your dog will have a stress free time with me! I take dog sitting seriously!

It's 7 AM, and when I arrive at Maxie's, I first slowly unlock the door and peek inside to make sure she isn't at the door, I don't want to startle her! I then pet her in a calm and gentle way and step in because she is deaf. She greets me with the cutest head nod and tail wag!

I give her a lot of head scratches and belly rubs before starting her routine.

She goes to the washroom in the backyard, they have a convenient dog run where she is trained to automatically go. I watch her go, if she poops I pick it up too! When she's all done, she begins to walk back straight to her door to have her meal. I prep it the way she likes it, and she eats what she can while I am with her. While she eats, I clean her water bowl and top it up with fresh water.

I then begin vacuuming - she is deaf so she doesn't mind the vacuum at all! A clean home is a happy home for your pup!

She usually follows me and watches me while I quickly clean, and then this is when I start to play with her! She has soft chew toys, and she loves catching them when I toss them to her.

Treat time comes after because she is such a good girl! Maxie loves her dog treats!

I then cuddle with her for the rest of the time, and when I am done, I make sure everything is in its place and secure. I close the door behind me, ensuring the door is locked, and send an update to Maxie's owner!

During her second visit of the day at 12 PM, I come over and see that she finished her meal. I wash her food bowl and let it dry so that it is ready for her dinner later. This visit includes me giving her company, lots of playtime, and even a brief walk to tire her out if I have time.

After the time is up, I make sure everything is secure and lock the door behind me. I send a second update to her owner.

The third visit happens at 5 PM, and this is when I decide to take her on a brief walk. The walk usually lasts 5-10 minutes around the block. She does her washroom duties, and we head back home for her second meal. Before I go, I give her a lot of head scratches and belly rubs and lock up and send an update to her owner.

Finally, the last drop-in visit of the day occurs at 10 PM. I spend my time cleaning her food bowl, leave a little extra for nighttime munchies, cuddling and one last washroom break in the backyard.

Day 1 is complete and the following day will be the same routine.
